How much does laundry weigh on average?

I hate doing laundry with a passion. I am thinking about doing a wash and fold service every now and then and am trying to figure out whether is a mild luxury or outrageous. So I am trying to figure out for two twentysomethings who go through a fairly conservative amount of clothing (will wear jeans, pajamas more than once before washing) how much would a week of laundry weight? Any other insight into the wash and fold world would be appreciated.

How does having laundry done at a hotel work?

Do you just leave the laundry in the bag they provide, and housekeeping takes it? Or, do you call the front desk and asked to have it picked up? Also, do you need to be in the room when they return the cleaned laundry? Thanks!

I’m renting a basement apartment and share laundry facilities with the two landlords who live upstairs. When I moved in they asked me to remove the laundry from the washer and dryer when it finished (which I’ve been doing). I guess the problem is that they leave their laundry in the washing machine for days (soaking in a lot of water). I’ve been trying to do laundry since Saturday and it’s now Tuesday night and the same load of laundry has been there since then. Since it’s their house and their laundry facilities, is it appropriate for me to ask them to not leave their things for so long? I’m also more than welcome to other suggestions!

How can I get my laundry sink to drain?

My husband put some tomato soup down the garbage disposal in the kitchen. After running the disposal, the laundry sink (in the garage) filled with tomato soupy water. It drained fine overnight. However, I ran a small load of laundry today and the sink would not drain out the laundry water. The washing machine still has a bit of water in it as well.

I’m assuming the disposal has a clog that is connected to the sink, but I’m not sure of the best way to clear it. It’s an old house (built in the late 60s/early 70s) and the washing machine has a tube that drains into the sink next to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    laundry ??

I wash my dish rags and dish towels seperatley from all other laundry. I wash them in hot water and use detergent and bleach. When they come out of the dryer they feel oily . Why is this happening? They didnt have any kind of oil on them when they went in the washer. My towels come out fine and all my other laundry does too. My washer is new and has never had anything oily washed in it.
I dont use liquid softener. I use dryer sheets.
